Perspective
“I’m not about being ‘P.C.’, says Robinson. “I’m about being honest. Honest to my clients, and about my clients. Honest about the message, the approach, communications, strategies, and, above all, the counsel I provide. I don’t want to waste a client’s time. If they have a great story to tell, I will tell them. Sometimes they have a remarkable one, and they just don’t know how to articulate it. That’s okay. And, sometimes, well, a potential client thinks they’ve got something to shout about, but there’s no substance. That’s when I tell it like I see it.”
I started Atria P.R., from a business perspective, because I wanted to run a successful public relations firm, one that would be financially viable, allow me the freedom to be selective in the clients I chose, and the chance to really stretch my expertise to the max.
From a personal perspective, I started Atria because, well pure and simple, I want to help people. Naturally, I want to help my clients, but I’m talking about my clients’ client, who is often a patient. As a kid, I always wanted to be a pediatrician. I wanted to help make people better. Well, you grow up and learn what your God–given talents really are, and mine – PR – no doubt.
By pursuing medical PR, I help communicate news about new surgical techniques, innovative medical devices, advanced research, or nonprofit services that do help people and even save lives. When I meet a patient who read or saw a story about a medical breakthrough, and it saved their life, or it saved their Mom, or Dad, or their child, well, this is what keeps me going. Words just can’t explain the reward of knowing you played a part (even if a tiny one) in helping to save a life.
